Q. Exactly where are the metering cells for
this camera located?
A. Metering is done through the small window beneath the camera’s hot
shoe.
Q. What type of flash is best for this camera?
A. The Mamiya 7II will work with almost every flash sold, portable or studio
lights. If you are using a flash designed for use on another brand of camera,
make sure that there is a "manual" setting on the flash or camera and /or flash
damage may result. Dedicated/TTL flash is not possible with this camera.
Q. Are 6x6 or 6x4.5 masks available for the Mamiya 7 II?
A. No. The camera will only shoot 6x7 or 24mm x 65mm with the optional 35mm
panoramic adapter.
Q. What is the highest synch speed for the Mamiya 7 II?
A. The Mamiya 7 lenses (all leaf shutter) will synch at all speeds.
Q. Will Mamiya 6 lenses fit the Mamiya 7 II?
A. No. Even if they could, they are not designed to cover a 6x7 area.
Q. How are filters used with this camera?
A. Some filters (such as starburst, graduated and soft focus) may require a
bit of "imagination" since you cannot see the effect through the lens. Remember
to adjust for the manufacturer’s exposure compensation.
Q. What is the removable round cover at the back of the
camera?
A. There are rangefinder adjustment screws located beneath that cover.
Adjustments to the rangefinder should only be performed by trained technicians
with factory equipment.
